Established in 1995, WAME (pronounced “whammy”) is a nonprofit voluntary association of editors of peer-reviewed medical journals from countries around the world who seek to foster international cooperation among and education of medical journal editors.

New WAME Directors Elected

The election of the WAME Directors for 2010-2011 has closed. The WAME Board is pleased to announce the election of  Rakesh Aggarwal (India), Rod J. Rohrich (USA), and Rob Siebers (New Zealand) [second term] as Directors for 2010-2011.


WAME Editorial

Conflict of Interest in Peer-Reviewed Medical Journals: The World Association of Medical Editors Position on a Challenging Problem by Lorraine Ferris and Robert Fletcher (accessible to WAME Members only for a limited time), which addresses the WAME Policy Statement Conflict of Interest in Peer-Reviewed Medical Journals. The new policy from the Editorial Policy and Publication Ethics Committees addresses conflict of interest issues and approaches for authors, peer reviewers, and editors.
